Over the past 20 years, the Irving Arts Board has provided millions of dollars of financial support to arts organizations in Irving. The Board has provided a portion of funding for groups presenting symphony concerts, ballet, theater, musical theater, exhibitions and more as well as for outreach in schools, conferences, workshops and cultural programs.
The financial assistance program is supported from the earned income funds received by the Irving Arts Center, and the funding available in any given fiscal year is determined annually by the Irving Arts Board.
The Irving Arts Boards’ financial assistance program contains three distinct elements: Founders Fund, Community Activities Fund and City Arts Services fund.
-
The
Founders Fund is designed to provide operational assistance to the 12
Founding Organizations (resident arts groups) of the Irving Arts Center.
-
The
Community Activities Fund is a limited sponsorship program providing limited funds for organizations presenting art activities and performances in Irving. Founding organizations are not eligible for
su[pport under this program.
The
City Arts Services fund is designed to provide services to Irving citizens that are not offered by the 12 Founding Organizations (resident arts groups). The Community Arts Services fund is not a grants program, but a "Contract for Services" system. A
Citizen's In-Put Panel of volunteers will provide suggestions for programming options.
