Councilman Allan Meagher, Harold Closter (Smithsonian
Affiliations), Richard Huff (Irving Arts Center), Gus Tramp
and Aaron Glavas (Smithsonian Affiliations) recognize the
Irving Arts Center during the 2007 Transportation Summit. |
The Smithsonian Affiliations program recognized the Irving Art Center's ongoing commitment to excellence by including the institution in its program in 2007. This partnership gives the Arts Center the ability to borrow from the Smithsonian's extensive collection of artifacts – incorporating selections from the 136-million object collection into future exhibitions. Other benefits include access to the Smithsonian's educational resources and expertise in the fields of conservation, collections care and exhibition development. The Arts Center also offers a dual membership for patrons with Smithsonian Affiliations.
