Grants
Since 1980, the Irving Arts Center has provided millions of dollars of grant funding to local organizations. Funded general operational support grants have included support for traditional arts organizations producing symphony, ballet, theater, band and choral concerts and on-going support for the Irving Black Arts Council and the Academy of Bangla Arts and Culture. Project grants include outreach performances in schools, cultural programs celebrating Black, Hispanic and East Indian traditions, exhibitions, literary conferences, workshops, support for the creation of youth music and theater programs.

Community Arts Financial Assistance Program

A.     PURPOSE: The purpose of this program is to provide the opportunity for both project and organizational assistance support to any non-profit arts organization who meets the eligibility requirements as established by the Irving Arts Board and the City of Irving.

B.     RATIONALE: This program is designed to provide the Irving Arts Board with a vehicle that will allow it to support arts organizations that provide opportunities to primarily the citizens of Irving to participate in, learn about, experience and to enjoy the arts in all its various forms.

C.     SOURCE OF FUNDING: This program is supported from the earned income funds received by the Irving Arts Center.  The actual amount of funding available in any given fiscal year is determined annually by the Irving Arts Board.

D.     GENERAL ELIGIBILITY: All non-profit arts organizations seeking Community Financial Assistance funding must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1.      The arts organization must be a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization as recognized under the IRS and Federal Tax Code.

2.      A majority of the applicant organization’s voting Board of Directors must live in the city of Irving.

3.      The applicant arts organization must have been in existence for one year as determined by their Articles of Incorporation and offered at least one full year of programmatic activities.

4.      The arts organization’s primary purpose must be artistic in nature and its mission must be consistent with the mission of the Irving Arts Board and the Irving Arts Center as stated in Section I of this document.
