Earnest D. Benton, Jr., was born in Chicago, IL. Earnest, who is self taught, has worked to develop his distinctive artistic style. As an emerging artist he finds great pleasure in creating pieces that bring joy and beauty to others. His medium of choice is pastels. The colors and mood of each piece gives the beholder a sense of wholeness and peace. The paintings of Earnest ‘Ernie' Benton are enjoyed by many from coast to coast.His art hangs in many fine homes across the United States including Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, Indiana, Texas, Florida, Georgia and Seoul, Korea.
