Chris Bergquist Fulmer, a professor of art at North Lake College, is a graduate of North Texas State University (MA in art history), Trinity University (BA in art and English), and the University of Texas at Austin (BFA in Art Education). She also has accumulated a substantial amount of graduate studio hours from Texas Tech University.
As an artist, Chris creates mixed media work on paper and panel. Often including three-dimensional objects and areas of texture, she executes thematic works dealing with literature, symbolism, or personal experiences. Her work combines mediative and active surfaces.
Her award winning work has appeared both nationally and locally in a variety of shows and juried exhibitions. Her work is also included in corporate and commercial collections, including Texas Instruments, Falling Rock Resort, The Woodlands Convention Center, and the DFW Executive Center. Her writing and illustrations have been published by The Austin American-Statesman, The Dallas Morning News, North Lake College's Gateways, The Irving News' ARTimes, What Canst Thou Say, and Artist's Magazine. A thirty minute documentary was produced and televised by Irving Community Television Network.
