Hector Marines, originally from Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, is a graphic designer who has received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. In 1984, he began his studies in artistic painting and drawing in his hometown. Having been a recipient of two state scholarships for continued studies, he participated in the prestigious Patricia Soriano Art Studio in Mexico City in 1993. In Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he studied in Gerardo Azcunaga's School of Contemporary Sculpture in the Museum of Contemporary Art (1995) and in 1998, Marines studied artistic drawing under Oscar Bachtold in Saltillo.
Since 1983, Mr. Marines has participated in numerous exhibits in all of Mexico, Spain and the United States. He has had five one man shows, most recently in Mexico City. His works have been selected for events such as the 1st Bienal Faber-Castel in 1996 and the XXI Resena de La Plastica Nuevoleonesa in 2001 and 2002, Tejas in 2004 , and Art Connection 2005 and 2006 . Owner of a conspicuous talent, Mr. Marines captures the fragrance of time and embodies the nature of human gestures created only by human culture.
