Pavlina Panova was born in 1959 in Bulgaria where she had a successful career as a published author, literary critic and a teacher of Bulgarian language and literature.

In 1999 she and her family came to the USA and since then they have been living in Irving.

She started creating pictures utilizing natural materials: dried leaves, flowers, seeds, wood pieces, herbs, etc. Her pieces keep the unique natural beauty of different kinds of leaves with bright, rich colors with gradating nuances, amazing shapes, lines and textures. There is no paint involved — all colors are natural. She creates images with leaves and covers the spaces between them with different kinds and colors of powder. The powder itself is made by the artist also out of natural materials. Colorful or black and white, her pictures are two- and three-dimensional; well protected under layers of gloss/matte Mod Podge and UV resistant acrylic coating.

Along with her preferred motifs and images taken out from Nature, Pavlina also experiments making abstract forms and images.

“I believe that every gift is a gift from God. I believe ART links Man with God — the Body of Mud with the Heavenly Soul.”                               Pavlina Panova
