Kathryn Petroff was influenced by the arts at a young age by her father and oldest sister who both have fine arts degrees.  She began drawing and painting as a child and became interested in photography in high school.  By her senior year and Bishop Lynch H.S., Kathryn had already been awarded Photographer of the year as well as competed and won first place for her senior portfolio at the state level TAPPS art competition.  She has worked as a logo designer for Three’s Co. and a showroom designer at the Dallas World Trade Center, painting logos and creating window displays for the trade shows.

     Kathryn also worked for Ka Yeung Studio assisting with shoots for companies such as The Container Store, Mary Kay, David Yurman, and SBC.  While working there, Kathryn was mentioned in a 2005 issue of “D” Magazine for a backdrop she painted.  She was mentioned in a 2004 article of the Denton Record-Chronicle: “Names in the Arts”, as well as a 2007 issue of the UNT Daily.  Her personal artwork has been exhibited in “People and Figures” at Premier Photo Gallery, the FMLA “Vagina Monologues” art show, “The Most Motivated Drawing Class Ever!” at the Lightwell Gallery UNT, “Project 67” at the Cora Stafford Gallery, “Jr/Sr Prom" at 500X Gallery, and “Art Connection” at the Irving Arts Center.  In 2007, Kathryn graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and moved on to open her own commission-based company out of Dallas, KLP Fine Art.  Several of her pieces are currently on display at Fete in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas.  Her newest project is a twenty-one foot mural she has been commissioned to paint for a residence in Dallas which should be completed in the spring of 2008.
