Field Trips & Tours
The Irving Arts Center's four galleries feature local and regional artists as well as traveling exhibitions from the Smithsonian Institution, National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature and more. The Arts Center is also home to a two-acre Sculpture Garden with original works from prominent artists, winding pathways, cascading fountains and a large-scale mosaic created by Irving youths. Schedule a complimentary tour of the Arts Center or enhance your performance field trip experience with a tour and a place to eat lunch. Call (972) 252-7558 x1225.
Guided tours are available upon request for groups of 40 or less. The Arts Center will make an attempt to accommodate larger groups who request a guided tour based on staff availability.
During a guided tour of the Arts Center, the exhibitions director will lead your group through the four gallery spaces and into the Sculpture Garden. Groups may also have the opportunity to view the backstage area of the Arts Center's two theaters. Guided tours last approximately one hour.
Self-Guided Tours
Groups of any size are welcome to view the galleries at any time during designated hours. Self-guided groups have access to all four galleries and the Sculpture Garden. While it is not required, the Arts Center recommends that self-guided groups schedule their visit with the exhibitions director to ensure a positive experience.
