Free Dan Zanes and Friends (Holiday Open House) Performance

Irving Arts Center's annual Holiday Open House concludes with a free (first come, first served) performance from Grammy-award-winning artist, Dan Zanes! For his holiday performances, Zanes leads a globe-trotting journey that even Santa would find impressive. Songs from Tunisia, Korea, Puerto Rico, Wales and Mexico will be performed in a sensory-friendly setting* along with traditional Hanukah and Christmas favorites during the free, all-ages holiday sing-along December 8.

Similar to our year-round Second Sunday Funday program, it's a free afternoon of fun crafts for the family. Don't forget to see Santa! Freedom Riders, Performance and Special Presentation

Mad River Theater Works’ Freedom Riders demonstrates the importance of working together to affect change and specifically how non-violent protest was used to combat the cruelties of segregation. Freedom riders, both black and white, mostly young, Americans, decided to travel together on buses that crossed state lines purposefully disregarding the hateful segregation practices that were still commonplace in so many parts of the United States. The play, recommended for ages 9 and up, explores the valiant and courageous personalities behind one of the most critical chapters in the history of the Civil Rights movement.
