Irving Arts Center offers the perfect framework for adults and children to experience art together. Second Sunday Fundays is a hands-on art afternoon. It offers parents and children projects they can create together in the creative atmosphere of the Irving Arts Center. Find inspiration in the gallery exhibitions, holidays and the seasons as families make art, friends and fun! And the best part? It’s FREE!
BONUS: a guided tour is offered on Sundays at 2:30 p.m.

Feb. 10 – Chinese New Year: Year of the Pig
In celebration of the 2019 Chinese New Year (beginning Feb. 5), learn about traditional paper crafts and the Chinese animal zodiac.
March 10 – Playing with Patterns
Did you know March is Texas History Month, Women’s History Month and National Quilting Month?! Join us for quilt-inspired art-making activities led by members of the Irving Quilt Guild!
April 14 – Our Fragile Planet
In observance of Earth Month (April) we’ll be busy bees with an art project that celebrates the beauty of the natural world. Mixed media exhibition Nancy Macko: Fragile Bee offers inspiration for the art activities.
May 12 – Masterpieces with Mom
It’s Mother’s Day! Bring your mom, aunt, grandma or other significant person in your life and celebrate this special day by making some amazing art together!
June 9 –The Wright Stuff
Design some seriously astounding structures as we celebrate the birthday of the great American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright (June 8, 1867 – April 9, 1959).
July 14 – Summer Splash!
Chill out and create a cool work of art inspired by summer fun at the beach and by the pool.
August 11 – Sculpt It!
Enjoy an exploration of the 3rd dimension by making art with clay and other media.
Sept. 8 – Paint It!
Grab a paintbrush and “go with the flow” creating some cool, colorful compositions!
