Lunch & Learn is a free monthly in-person program, held the first Tuesday of the month, from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. at Irving Arts Center. Jason Thing will join us Tuesday, March 3 from noon to 1:30PM as our featured guest speaker.
Jason will discuss the exhibition, The Memory I Still Carry, an MFA Thesis Exhibition on view February 28-March 28, 2026 in the Focus Gallery at Irving Arts Center.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jason Phyo Thing is a ceramic artist and an MFA candidate at University of Dallas (Irving). This thesis exhibition is a reflection on the fragile boundary between memory and identity which connects what was lost and what endures. Each of the ceramic sculptures featured in the installation are envisioned as vessels of remembrance, shaped by the artist’s journey from Burma (Myanmar) through years of displacement to life in the United States. He was the Best of Show recipient in Irving Arts Center’s 2025 Art Connection Members Show.
