Lindsay Garritson Presented by Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra (The Beauty of the Piano)

Overture to The School for Scandal (1931) by Barber opens the concert with wit, energy, and dazzling orchestral color. Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 3 (1945) showcases extraordinary virtuosity while balancing power with moments of remarkable beauty and tenderness. The evening concludes with Bernstein’s Symphonic Suite from On the Waterfront (1954), a cinematic masterpiece filled with soaring melodies, tension, and emotional depth.
