Jonathan Mamora Presented by Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra (The Grand Canyon Suite Live)

Come welcome spring with the LCSO and guest conductor Juan Carlos Lomónaco. This concert begins with Michael Daugherty’s Red Cape Tango; a piece from his five movement Metropolis Symphony to commemorate Superman and his inspirational life as hero of Metropolis. This stunning movement is followed by Ferde Grote’s Grand Canyon Suite. Grote is best known for this masterwork dedicated to the breathtaking natural monument in Arizona, and for orchestrating Rhapsody in Blue for fellow All-American Season artist George Gershwin!

The final performance of the evening is Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.1 which was premiered by Hans von Bülow in Boston in 1875. Come witness this titan of the romantic era played masterfully by Jonathan Mamora.
