Homeschooler Happening: The Art of Money

Irving Arts Center’s quarterly program, Homeschooler Happenings, begins with a tour through current exhibitions.  We will then take our inspiration from the exhibitions to our art making space to create our own amazing works of art!

This month’s inspiration comes from the exhibition, Cultural Currency: Contemporary Art from the Riemer Collection.  This amazing exhibition featuring 38 artists is a nationally touring exhibition presenting the unique and innovative uses of money as a medium to explore preconceived notions of value and worth.

Come see some fun ways these artists have used money and then think about how you might do the same!  Can you create your own version of money?  What would it look like?  Come ready to create your own mixed media Cultural Currency!

REGISTRATION

Registration is required for all participants. Fees are $5 for ages 5 or older, $3 for siblings over the age of 5 and free to all under the age of 5.  Register and reserve your spot in advance by clicking the button below.
