Guided Tours – Share the Excitement

Self-guided tours of the galleries may be taken anytime during gallery hours. Check the Exhibitions section of the website for details.
Free guided tours of the galleries are offered the first Saturday of the month at 2PM.
By appointment, Irving Arts Center also offers group tours of the galleries, sculpture garden and theaters for schools, clubs and corporations. Guided tours for groups larger than 40 will be accommodated based on staff availability. Please allow two weeks from the date of your request to schedule your tour. To make a tour request, please fill out a tour request form.

D-I-Y is A-OK!
Groups of any size are welcome to tour the galleries on their own at any time during gallery hours. Self-guided groups have access to all four galleries and the Sculpture Garden. While it is not required, the Arts Center recommends that self-guided groups schedule their visit for the best possible experience.
Field Trip Transportation Reimbursement
Irving Arts Center is pleased to offer a reimbursement program which covers bus transportation for field trips. To submit for transportation reimbursement please fill out the transportation reimbursement form.
Docent-Led Tours
Irving Arts Center now offers guided tours twice a month (at 2PM on the first Saturday of each month and the second Sunday of each month). For large groups interested in booking a docent-led tour at another time, please send an inquiry to boxoffice@cityofirving.org.
Field Trips – Create an Impression

Visual Delights
Schedule a free guided tour! With five galleries and more than 24 exhibits each year, the Center showcases a wide variety of artistic styles and media. Exhibits feature local, regional and nationally recognized artists, as well as traveling exhibitions from the Smithsonian Institution, National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature and more. Irving Arts Center is also home to a two-acre Sculpture Garden scattered with original works from prominent artists, winding pathways, cascading fountains and a large-scale pictorial mosaic created by Irving students.
Virtual Tours & Visits
Visit Irving Arts Center from the comfort of your own classroom! Virtual field trips are a great option and are customizable. Does your group wish to virtually tour the facility, go backstage, and learn about what goes into theatrical productions? Or would your group be more interested in virtually viewing our exhibitions, learning about the artists represented in our galleries and participating in a guided art activity? Tell us what you’d like to learn and experience, and we’ll take it from there!

Performance Magic
The memory and impact of attending a live performance lasts for a lifetime! Student matinees are scheduled throughout the year. Selections include classics like Charlotte’s Web and To Kill A Mockingbird and popular storybooks like Splat, the Cat and Junie B. Jones brought to life on stage by professional touring companies. Group ticket prices are under $10 and performance times are conveniently scheduled during weekday mornings.
