Resources for Artists and Art Organizations

Artists of all ages and experience levels can build skills and enjoy the fellowship of other artists through Arts Center programs.

The mission of the Irving Arts Board and the Irving Arts Center is to serve citizens and visitors through the support and development of artistic opportunities.

Irving is a vibrant place to live, work, and visit and the Arts Board is dedicated to providing artistic opportunities for all citizens to learn about, participate in, experience, and enjoy the arts in all its forms. There are a number of resources available for those interested in making art, organizations dedicated to providing cultural opportunities for residents and visitors and for those who wish to support the efforts of such groups behind the curtain.

As a Smithsonian Affiliate Institution, Irving Arts Center echoes the Smithsonian mission: “The increase and diffusion of knowledge.” Irving Arts Center aims to inspire artists, scientists, technologists and creative thinkers by providing opportunities for learning and engaging.

Call for Entries and Proposals for Exhibition

Artists of all ages will want to look into joining Art Connection, for an annual opportunity to be included in a gallery exhibition in the beautiful galleries of Irving Arts Center. View our Call for Entries page to view the latest opportunities to have your art exhibited here at Irving Arts Center, or submit your own proposal for exhibition.

Workshops & Classes

Irving Arts Center offers workshops, lectures and demonstrations for adults throughout the year. Current upcoming workshop opportunities include Lunch & Learn, a free monthly in-person program, held the first Tuesday of the month, from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. at Irving Arts Center.  Each month an artist or art professional is invited to give an informative talk about their art or area of expertise.  Please visit Irving Arts Center’s calendar for upcoming speakers. For young artists ages 4-16, the summer camps cover the full spectrum of visual and performing arts. Saturday School offers four six-week sessions October through May concentrating on the Visual Arts .

Exhibition Opportunities

Membership in Art Connection offers artists of all ages a chance to be included in a gallery exhibition in the beautiful galleries of Irving Arts Center.
