From Scribbles to Stories
February 25, 2026 from 10AM to 12NOON
RESCHEDULED FROM JANUARY 28
Our inspiration for this session is the current exhibition by artist/illustrator, Rafael Lopez. His illustrations are bright, colorful and full of inspiration to fuel our creativity! We will be going from the scribbles of our imaginations to illustrations to create our own stories. From the artist’s original artwork to the pages of a book, what story will you tell? What creatures or characters can you create? What funny critters or magical scenes will tell your story?
September’s inspiration is the current exhibition, Danville Chadbourne: New Works in Wood. We will tour all the current exhibitions but focus on this one for our project. Let’s have fun playing with shapes, patterns, and textures. Our finished creations will be mixed media sculptures ready to display on a wall or freestanding on a pedestal.
Welcome back to our in-person Homeschooler Happenings program. This season we will once again meet quarterly, beginning with a tour through current exhibitions. We will then take our inspiration from the exhibitions to our art making space to create our own amazing works of art.
Registration is required for all participants. Fees are $5 for ages 5 or older, $3 for siblings over the age of 5 and free to all under the age of 5. Register and reserve your spot in advance by clicking the button below.
