The Lone Star Yourth Orchestra will conclude its 26th season on May 21st with a concert titled “Melodic Treasures”. This hour-long program features Camille Saint-Saëns’ Marche Militaire Francaise from Suite Algerienne, Op. 60, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565, Elliot Del Borgo’s Danse Infernal, Georges Bizet’s Farandole from L’Arlésienne Suite, No. 2, and Klaus Badelt’s Medley from Pirates of the Caribbean. As an added treat, the winners of our annual LSYO Concerto Competition will each be playing their pieces with the orchestra. First Place winner Ariana Velazquez will perform Dmitri Kabalevsky’s Violin Concerto in C Major, Op. 48 (II) and Second Place winner Nico Ramé will play Antonio Vivaldi’s Bassoon Concerto in A Minor, RV 498 (III).
