    Presented by the Islamic Art Revival Series in conjunction with the 6th Annual Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Islamic Art Special Guest Speaker/Artist: Arash Shirinbab will deliver a workshop for adults, ages 17 and up. Arash Shirinbab is an award winning artist and calligrapher and has managed to be a successful blend of artist, Arabic-Persian calligrapher, and designer, as well as art administrator, art curator, and entrepreneur for the past ten years.

  1. Show us your True Grit, Awards Presentation

    October 24 @ 6:30 pm

    Irving Public Library invites Irving ISD students in grades 4-12 and adults to write an essay inspired by this year’s Irving Reads selection, the novel True Grit by Charles Portis. In no more than 300 words, the essay should focus on a time in your life when you or someone you know showed true grit, by sticking to their goals no matter what stood in their way. Winners will be announced during a special awards presentation held at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 24 at the Irving Arts Center. Prizes will be awarded to the first ($100), second ($75) and third place ($50) in each category.
