25th Annual Art Connection Members’ Show

Exhibition History and Background:
Since 2001, each summer Irving Arts Center has held a non-juried exhibition featuring art created by our Art Connection members. During this show, artwork by students and professional and non-professional artists hangs side by side in the beautiful Main Gallery and the adjoining Focus Gallery. Existing and new Art Connection members are invited to submit up to two works of art. Awards will be given in three categories (Youth, Nonprofessional and Professional) as well as an overall Best of Show.
2025 Awards Judge: Jessica FuentesJessica Fuentes is a writer, arts professional, and artist whose work has appeared in Hyperallergenic, The Brooklyn Rail, Southwest Contemporary, and scholarly journals such as the Journal of Museum Education and Art Education Journal. She holds an MA in Art Education from the University of North Texas and a BA in Art and Performance from the University of Texas at Dallas.
As Editor-In-Chief of Glasstire, Fuentes leads editorial direction while also contributing essays, opinion pieces, reviews, and artist profiles. In 2023, she received the Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant to highlight Texas art spaces founded by artists of color. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she has led initiatives connecting artists, museums and communities, including programs at the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
Entry Dates:
Art Connection members may drop their work on Saturday, October 25 from 1pm-5pm or Sunday, October 26 from 1pm-5pm at Irving Arts Center. Out of town Art Connection members are welcome to ship their artwork to arrive at Irving Arts Center by October 26. Artwork received after 5pm on October 26 will not be considered for the exhibition.
Fees & Entry Info
$10 entry per piece (maximum of 2 pieces per Art Connection member). Entry fees waived for Art Connection members who a have a Patron Level membership or above. All fees are non-refundable.

Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition
ABOUT
The Texas & Neighbors Exhibition is an annual collaboration between the Irving Art Association and Irving Arts Center. In 2022 we are celebrating its 37th year. Artists from Texas and neighboring states (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma) are invited to compete.
JUROR
The Juror for 2022 is Billy Hassell, a Texas artist based in Fort Worth, renowned for his oil paintings, watercolor and lithographs. Referred to as “Mother Nature’s stylist” by The New York Times, Hassell is renowned for his ability to capture, through his art, the natural beauty of the world around him.

Entries for the 2022 competition are open now through March 6, 2022.

AWARDS/CATEGORIES
The Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition offers $9,000 in awards! This year the competition will have an additional awards category Printmaking, for a total of eight media categories. The scope of the MIxed Media and Sculpture categories has also been expanded.
